muster - (v.): to get enough courage, confidence, support etc to do something, especially with difficulty- Synonyms: assemble, collect, gather up, raise
- Antonyms: remove, throw away, give up
- Origin: L. monstrare meaning "to show" (as in demonstate), which actually comes from the word monstrum meaning "omen or sign" (as in monster)
- Example: Even though it might be fun, I don't think I will ever muster the courage to go on the high-dive.
Is there anything you would like to muster the confidence to try just once? What is it?
