temporary - (adj.): lasting only a little while; continuing or existing for only a short interval of time
  • Synonyms: short-term, brief, limited
  • Antonyms: permanents, long-term, forever
  • Origin: 1547, L. from tempus meaning "time, season"
  • Example: I am genuinely tired of cold weather and indoor recess.  Thankfully, winter in Montana is only temporary.
We have performed several experiments with magnets so far, one where you even made a temporary magnet like the one in the image below.
Why is this paper clip a temporary magnet?
How can you turn something into a magnet?

I think the paper clip is a temporary magnet because
it's not a REAL magnet! You can turn only medal things that are steel or iron into magnets how you ask?Well you can turn a steel or iron thing into a magnet by stroking the end twenty times!

Is why it's temporary is it is a magnet because it's been magnetized by a magnet. You can turn it into a magnet by turning it and rubbing it 20 times on the magnet.

I think it is a temporary magnet because it is only a paperclip and the bult is really heavy so it might fall off in 2 seconds.
