limbo - (n.): a situation in which nothing happens or changes for a long period of time, and it is difficult to make decisions or know what to do, often because you are waiting for something else to happen first
  • Synonyms: uncertainty, nothingness, left hanging, unfinished, on hold
  • Antonyms: certainty, finished, resolved
  • Origin: 1300, from L. limbus meaning "edge, border"
  • Example: I’m in limbo about how much popcorn to make until I know how many of your family members will come to our premier tomorrow!
How is the feeling of being in limbo relevant to the game of limbo?

Limbo is relevant to be in limbo because YOU are in limbo to know if you're going to make it under the pole!
