evade - (v.): to not talk about something you don't want to talk about; to try to avoid doing something you don't want to do; to try not to get caught by running or hiding
  • Synonyms: avoid, bypass, escape, flee
  • Antonyms: get caught, face, meet, take on
  • Origin: L. evadere meaning "to escape, get away," from ex- "away" + vadere "to go, walk" (as in vamoose)
  • Example: In the image of an Australian rugby game below, player Matt Geyer tries to evade the Eels defense.
Do you ever try to evade your chores? How?
